Conservancy volunteers fanned out across town the morning after Irene left the area, to check on trail, bridge, and forest conditions. Here’s the latest information, for your safety.
Thanks to our volunteer leaders who provided a wide variety of interesting spring programs. We had over 100 community members who came out to learn about nature photography, bird watch, fly a kite, learn about flowers and ferns and hear about the agricultural history and Abenaki influence at Mink Brook. The Hanover Conservation Council dedicated the lower Slade Brook conservation area in honor of Jim and Evalyn Hornig on Friday, November 7, 2008. Jim Hornig has been a visionary leader in land conservation efforts including the protection of the Slade Brook watershed.
