SUMMARY:9th Annual Hanover Trails Challenge
DESCRIPTION:Co-sponsored by the Hanover Conservancy and Hanover Parks & Rec\, the Trails Challenge is a do-at-your-own-pace hiking event that runs all summer.\nThe Challenge is ideal for families looking for activities throughout summer vacation\, and is just as fun for adults or couples who want to explore new areas. Anyone can register- you do not need to be a Hanover resident.\n\nRegistration is $6/person or $20/family of 4 or more. $2 from each registration will go towards trail maintenance in Hanover to support these special places.\n\n This summer’s challenge offers 8 hikes\, 7 in Hanover and 1 located just “beyond our borders” in Lebanon.  After you register\, you will receive a hiking guide* (available by June 11) with maps\, directions\, property descriptions\, and hiking guidelines. Each hike has a special destination where you will find a wooden marker with an image for you to draw or identify in your hiking guide.\n\nComplete 6 of 8 hikes by the end of September to be eligible for a raffle of prizes generously donated by the following local businesses: Gardener’s Supply\, Hanover Adventure Tours\, Umpleby’s Bakery & Cafe\, Boloco\, Sierra\, Still North Books\, Blue Sky Restaurant Group\, Ramuntos\, and The Nugget Theater.\n\nRegister for the Hanover Trails Challenge at Hanover Parks and Rec!

SUMMARY:Brook Trout in the Mink Brook Watershed
DESCRIPTION:Join Ben Nugent of NH Fish and Game and Adair Mulligan of Hanover Conservancy for a discussion of brook trout populations in Mink Brook. \nBen Nugent will talk about the ways the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department has benefited from local partnerships which promote the restoration and protection of wild brook trout habitat. Learn about a watershed-wide field study done in 2011 and some of these collaborative efforts which could possibly be implemented in the Mink Brook Watershed. \nAdair Mulligan will discuss the ways in which the protection of lands in the Mink Brook Watershed by the Hanover Conservancy has likely been a contributing factor to the current brook trout population. \nThis program is hybrid: it will be held in person in the Mayer Room\, and also by Zoom.  No registration required in person.  Register for the Zoom link by clicking here.  For more information\, email Jared Jenisch at jared.jenisch@thehowe.org.
