RAIN OR SHINE!
Meet at the top of Velvet Rocks Drive, Hanover, in the gravel parking area.
Moderate, off-trail hiking (<2 miles round trip); waterproof boots strongly recommended!
If trails are muddy, your best option is to stay off them until they’re dry- this helps prevent erosion.

If you must use a muddy trail, stick to the center of the trail. Walking around or on the edges just makes the muddy, eroding spot wider!
Thanks to the rain, our path up Balch Hill is a muddy mess. We look forward to rescheduling this when the weather is better!
