Help protect our trails

April 2, 2018

If trails are muddy, your best option is to stay off them until they’re dry- this helps prevent erosion.

Hiking boots walking along muddy Kuilau Ridge Trail, Lihue-Koloa Forest Reserve, Kauai, Hawaii

If you must use a muddy trail, stick to the center of the trail. Walking around or on the edges just makes the muddy, eroding spot wider!

Family Moonlight Snowshoe & Bonfire

February 19, 2018

UPDATE: Microspikes are strongly recommended! Just as a reminder, the first section of this loop is all uphill, but we’ll take plenty of breaks. We expect to start the bonfire by 6:45 or so.

This Saturday from 5-8, join Hugh Mellert on this annual family favorite- suitable for ages 7+. Enjoy a bonfire, cocoa and treats at the end. Meet at 11 Old Lyme Rd; free, no registration required. Please, no dogs. Co-sponsored with Hanover Parks & Rec.
