Over the summer and early fall, Gail McPeek and Barbara Price invited people who took the Nature Poetry Walk to write a poem for an Etna Library poetry collection. We are thankful to those who contributed. Gail has now illustrated them like the poetry walk signs and they are posted on the Etna Library webpage. Take a look at https://www.hanovernh.org/
Walking on the Wild Side of Hanover – For Nearly 60 Years!
We’re excited to partner with the Etna Library on the Conservancy’s first Zoom talk, “Walking on the Wild Side of Hanover – For Nearly 60 Years!”
Founded in 1961, the Hanover Conservation Council (now the Conservancy) has been working behind the scenes to protect the best bits and pieces of our town. Take a visual tour of all of these lands, from the Connecticut River to the ridge of Moose Mountain, with the Conservancy’s Executive Director, Adair Mulligan.
Butterflies For All
Come explore the lovely world of some of our local butterflies with Bill Shepard at the Etna Library on Monday, August 13th at 3:00.
Look at specimens and learn about moth & butterfly resources before heading outside to the Hayes Farm Park & Nan and Allen King Bird Sanctuary to try your hand at catching a few!
This fun & informative event is recommended for ages 8+, but all are welcome. Event includes a short, easy walk behind the library.
