Family Snowshoe at the Ray School

Family Moonlight Snowshoe/Spike Hike

January 3, 2023

Saturday, March 4, 5-8pm

Prowl the Slade Brook watershed by moonlight, discovering trail loops and Vermont views. Bonfire and refreshments follow. Suitable for ages 7 & up. Bring a headlamp or flashlight. Snowshoes or micro-spikes are available to borrow at the site if needed.

Meet: 11 Old Lyme Road.

Level: Easy to moderate; initial uphill climb.

Leader: Hugh Mellert.

Winter Hike at Moose Mountain

Saturday, January 21st, 1-3pm

Let’s explore the ridge of Moose Mt. for clues to landscape history, hear plans for a new trail, and do some wildlife tracking while we’re at it. Co-sponsored with Hanover Conservation Commission. Snowshoes or spikes are available to borrow at the site if needed.

Meet: Trailhead parking area at the Top of Moose Mtn. Lodge Road

Level: Easy to moderate

Winter hike at Mink Brook Community Forest

December 22, 2021

Venture out to check for wildlife signs in the many habitat types protected by this new town land. We’ll visit both sides- north side is challenging; the south side is mild and flat. Snowshoes or micro-spikes, depending on conditions; gear available to borrow at site.

Meet: Trailhead off Greensboro Rd. which is located between the homes at 108 and 110 Greensboro Road, on the north side of the road. There is a trailhead parking sign along Greensboro Rd

Level: Easy to moderate

Fullington Farm Family Friendly River Trail Hike

What’s afoot at Pine Park? Explore Hanover’s oldest conservation area with members of the Pine Park Association and the experts helping to guide its future. Snowshoes or micro-spikes, depending on conditions; gear available to borrow.
